Well known for her 13-hour filibuster to block a 2013 abortion bill in the Texas Senate, Wendy Davis serves in a new role as senior advisor to Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, bringing the same tenacity and courage.
On March 19, Davis will address her fight to regain basic freedoms for Texas women in healthcare and reproductive rights. Through a conversational format, Davis will answer questions about the new 10-year strategic plan of Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, the political advocacy and fund-raising arm of Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas. Goals of the organization include building the political infrastructure to block, and eventually reverse, many of the recent anti-abortion policies enacted in Texas, as well as prevent further restrictions on abortion across state lines and restrictions on contraception.
