Our book, KENT STATE - FOUR DEAD IN OHIO by Derf Backderf, is the story about the day in 1970 when Guardsmen opened fire into a crowd, killing 4 unarmed students and wounding 9 more. Published in 2020, this graphic novel is a dramatic re-creation based on eyewitness accounts, detailed research, and investigation Named best book of the year by the New York Times, Forbes, Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and NPR, we should have some rousing discussion about why this book is banned and the relevance to our current political situation.
